Signature Surcharge
A signature surcharge may apply when a courier requires or offers proof-of-delivery by adult signature or a similar secure release — giving an extra layer of confirmation for valuable or sensitive shipments. Availability and fees vary by carrier and country.
1. What it is
Signature or secure POD services ask the receiver (or an authorised person) to sign on delivery. Carriers may charge a surcharge for this service on top of base shipping rates.
2. When it applies on LinkEx
If you select a service that includes mandatory signature, or if the partner’s product rules require signature for your shipment type, any applicable signature surcharge may be included in the LinkEx quote for that option. If signature is optional and not selected, the fee generally does not apply.
- Availability and naming differ by partner and market; some list a Signature Surcharge explicitly, others bundle POD rules into the product.
- Failed delivery attempts due to an unavailable signatory may follow the partner’s reattempt and storage rules.
3. How courier partners handle signature services
Partners may offer adult signature, registered delivery, or similar secure release options. Fees and eligibility follow each courier’s published service guides and the product you book through LinkEx.
Whether a signature fee is currently published for your origin and destination depends on the selected carrier — check that partner’s official surcharges or service terms for live rates.
4. How you see it
When applicable, signature-related cost is usually included in the compare/book total for the selected courier option. Tracking may show POD or signature capture as an event after delivery.
