Fuel Surcharge
Courier partners may apply a fuel surcharge (FSC) that reflects changes in fuel and energy costs. On LinkEx, this cost is usually included in the quote you see when you compare and book — not shown as a separate line unless we say otherwise.
1. What it is
A fuel surcharge is a variable percentage or amount added to transportation charges. Carriers adjust it periodically based on published fuel indices so their rates can track market fuel prices.
2. When it applies on LinkEx
When you get a quote or book on LinkEx, the selected courier’s applicable fuel surcharge (if any) is typically built into the landed cost behind the price we show. The contract of carriage remains with the courier partner, and their published fuel surcharge rules govern.
- Quotes are based on the shipment details you provide and the partner’s then-current rates and surcharges.
- If weight, dimensions, service, or route change after booking, the final charge may be recalculated under the partner’s rules.
3. How courier partners set fuel surcharges
Most express and parcel networks revise fuel surcharges on a regular schedule (often monthly). Domestic and international services may use different fuel indices — for example gasoline or diesel indices for road networks, and jet-fuel indices for air express — with a lag between index publication and the surcharge that appears on invoices.
Each partner may change its fuel surcharge index, table, amount, and duration under its own terms, sometimes with short notice. LinkEx does not republish live percentage tables here because they change frequently and differ by carrier.
4. How you see it
On LinkEx Compare and Book, fuel surcharge is normally rolled into the total price for the selected option. We do not guarantee that every partner breaks out FSC as a separate customer-facing line item.
